What do you do for work?
I’m a marketing and PR guru with a side of travel + lifestyle writing.

What are you most passionate about?
Probably not the first to say this but… travel. From the second I buy my flight (whether it’s 6 months before or 6 hours before…) to getting on the plane (I secretly love airplane food!) to getting off the plane and touching down somewhere new and unexplored – there’s nothing quite like it. Going to Bali with Unsettled was my first taste of Asia and I honestly can’t believe it had taken me so long to explore that part of the world.

What does it mean to “never settle” in your own life?
I don’t think you ever realize how stuck or unhappy you are until you aren’t. I loved living in NYC prior to relocating back to Miami – but when I look back from a career perspective I wouldn’t have lasted another day in the corporate world. I never understood the rigid, corporate ladder and the notion some people only get 10 days of vacation a year is no way to live. One of the main reasons I decided to fly solo and start my own marketing agency was because I wanted to set my own rules – for work and for life.

What was the most defining moment during your Unsettled experience in Bali?
Doing Unsettled in Bali of all places really opened my eyes to what it is to be a digital nomad – and how contrary to popular belief it’s not just for travel bloggers on Instagram. It was my first time working remotely with my clients for an extended period of time and I realized if I can do it in Bali with a 12-hour time difference, the world is truly my oyster.

What in your life has changed, or have you committed to changing, since your month with Unsettled?
I went to an Ayurvedic doctor while I was in Ubud because, well,… when in Rome right? I learned about doshas and how I was VERY much PITTA (fire) with a bit of Vata and how to balance my doshas to live a better life. I can’t say I’ve made the change overnight (recommendations included banning hot sauce and swapping my HIIT Barry’s Bootcamp for yoga and meditation…what?!) but it was definitely eye opening and something I continue to take into account in my day to day.

What’s your favorite quote that you think the world needs to see?
“It’s easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission”. This works across all aspects of life and hasn’t failed me… yet.
