Unsettled: TOKYO 1-WEEK EXPERIENCE
Unstructured | Unbounded | Unexpected
Welcome to Unsettled: Tokyo.Â
For one week, join Unsettled’s community of entrepreneurs, creatives, and professionals from around the world for a radically different kind of experience wandering Tokyo’s dense urban playground. You show up. We challenge you to live and travel differently.
This is a week-long urban exploration of the hidden side of Tokyo’s unique neighborhoods. The days themselves will be curated but flexible; the nights unscripted and filled with possibility. You’ll balance between local experiences curated by our friends, alumni, and team, and exploring the city’s alleyways , hole-in-the-wall noodle joints, design subcultures, and extraordinary traditions. We create the platform. You choose how to spend your time.
There’s only one question: What’s holding you back?

Unsettled: Tokyo Highlights…
- Once the power center of the Tokugawa shogunate, and now a contemporary capital of design, craftsmanship, and futurism that blends digital and physical realities, Tokyo is one of the most unique and fascinating cities on earth.
- We will explore the subcultures and emerging narratives that make Tokyo a modern mecca for those well-traveled individuals seeking to rediscover that sense of culture shock. From the Japanese concepts of Ikigai and wabi-sabi, to the underground art, music, and of course, food cultures of the city that blends tradition with modernity in a way only found in Japan, one week will leave you wanting more.
- Some options to explore: teamLab’s “Borderless” exhibition bridging the physical and digital divide through interactive installations, day trips to the nearby coast of Kamakura and the Kotoku-in buddha statue, endless food options, robot cafes, visits to historic Shinto and Buddhist temples and shrines, dancing with Kawaii monsters (that personify the spirit of Harajuku and the subcultures surrounding it), checking out underground hip-hop and electronic music scenes, stepping into a Pachinko parlor to test your luck, sipping lattes at cat cafes, walking tours of the city’s famous parks, exploring hidden sake bars and sushi joints, and much, much more.
