Investing In Your Creative Side? Here are 13 Grant Programs for Artists

Are you itching to create? Using your time in quarantine to reignite that spark and dive into those creative projects? Or, perhaps your business has taken a hit and you need some extra funding to keep your creative projects moving. 

There are many grants out there for artists in all disciplines, and all over the world, providing support for creators who are struggling financially at this time due to the effects of COVID-19. 

Here are a few findings that the Unsettled community has come across for financial support. Take a look! 

Twenty Summers – Emergency Arts Fund

Twenty Summers is a nonprofit arts organization in Provincetown, MA taking nominations for artists and arts organizations in order to provide them with emergency funding. 

Format – The Photography Fund 

Are you a self-employed photographer impacted by COVID-10? Format, the online portfolio platform, is donating $25,000 to photographers. 

The Mayer Foundation 

For artists suffering in the New York City Area, grants around $2,000 are available from the Mayer Foundation. 

The Artists’ Fellowship 

Today the Artists’ Fellowship grants are for artists with immediate medical emergencies and their aftermaths. For fine artists in the USA. 

Arts Administrators of Color Network – Emergency Fund 

Microgrants of $200 are available from the Arts and Culture Leaders of Color Emergency Fund. For artists and arts administrators. 

Artist Relief Project 

For artists in any discipline whose income has been impacted by COVID-19. 

The Soze Agency – Artist + Activist Relief Fund 

$150,000 dollars have already been distributed to over 500 artists and activists. The Relief Fund’s waitlist is now open. 

Artist Relief 

For artists residing and working in the US over the past 2 years, $2,000 relief grants are available.  

New Media Ventures – 2020 Expanded Open Call 

Do you have a startup in the US, or is seeking to enter the US market, that has been impacted by COVID-19? The deadline is May 4, 2020

The Mercatus Center Prize Fund to Combat COVID-19

For innovators combating COVID-19, Emergent Ventures is offering many prizes including, “best investigative journalism on coronavirus” and “most important innovation or improvement for India”.

The Red Backpack Fund – Elevating Female Entrepreneurs

The Spanx by Sara Blakely Fund is taking applications once a month from female entrepreneurs in the US. Every month, 1,000 entrepreneurs will receive $5,000. 

PEN America – Writers’ Emergency Fund

For professional writers based in the US, grants of $500 to $1,000 are available. 

Facebook – Small Business Grants Program 

Facebook is offering $100 million in cash grants to up to 30,000 small businesses in over 30 countries where they operate.
