What do you do for work?
What in your life has changed since living Unsettled?
Before living Unsettled, I was living in Dubai, armed with a great job and all the glam the city offers. Eight years in and it felt I had been stuck in a vicious cycle of routine, boredom and a whole lot of superficiality. Time flew fast, but it felt I’d been missing out on important things in my life. The expat culture in Dubai is so powerful and disposable that I was never able to really connect with anyone here. Then Unsettled happened! I was able to connect with people at a deeper level, made a new family, and in just a week it changed my perspective on what is important in life for me. Ever since, I’ve taken the plunge to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone. And that brings us to today, I’m going to leave Dubai in search of a new way of living. I quit my job on September 1, 2018, and I’ll be out of Dubai on November 9, 2018. Ultimately, Unsettled taught me what is important in life, and it is not the material things we surround ourselves with, instead it’s the people we connect with.
What do you value most about the Unsettled community?
The community has no borders, no nations and no politics. We are from nowhere and everywhere. It’s a community where you can learn a lot and share a lot at the same time.
